At New Community, we understand that transformation is a life-long journey. This is why, we are devoted to being students of Christ. By the way, you could be yourself here, be real, no one to impress here!

OUR VISION

It is the New Community Church vision to lead people in becoming committed and authentic disciples of Jesus Christ in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

CORE VALUES EXPRESSED IN OUR VISION

Five main values emerge out of our community’s desire to follow Jesus Christ as expressed in our vision statement:

JOURNEY “…to lead people”

We understand that life is a journey, an experience in progress, and that each of us is at a different stage on this path. Thus we encourage you to “come as you are!” Our desire is to come along side of you and share life together. “Together has power… don’t run alone…”

GROWTH “… in becoming”

We understand that while our eternal destiny has been redeemed and secured in the Cross of Jesus and our salvation is complete in Him, our character is in constant development and transformation into the likeness of the Son of God. None of us is a finished product, we are all a work of art in progress.

“He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ”…(Philippians 1:6)

COMMITMENT “…committed”

As we have experienced the saving grace of Jesus, we have been called to live for Him! We have been “sanctified,” “set apart” to live for God’s honor and glory. We are devoted to God’s mission in the world through His children!

“And this is the will of God, your sanctification…” (1 Tessalonians 4:3)

GENUINE “… and authentic”

Deep within our heart, we long to be known and loved just as we are… Jesus knows us in this intimate way (John 2:25)! And what’s even more amazing, is the fact that He loves us the same! As we are honest with God, then we can begin to be honest with others.

BEING A STUDENT

“… disciples of Jesus Christ in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”

Jesus has called us to follow Him (Matthew 4:19). To be a Seventh-day Adventist Christian is to follow Jesus, to learn from Him moment by moment, drawing from His Spirit’s anointing in our hearts and the teachings of His Word. A disciple is a student of the Master Jesus, an apprentice of the one who knows all, and loves all!

OUR MISSION

To exalt Christ, edify his body of believers, for evangelism and social action.

OUR HISTORY

With the conviction to create a seeker sensitive environment in 1995, a small group of Seventh-Day Adventist Christians came together. By June of 1996, the New Community group began holding Bible studies and worship services at the Pinecrest Presbyterian Church. In June 10, 2000 NCC was officially organized as a church of the Florida Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists. Later that year, we relocated to our present beautiful church setting at Christ Congregational Church. And in November of 2004, New Community was assigned its first full-time lead pastor.

OUR FOCUS

At New Community, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in an upbeat-relevant worship experience. We’re not about “having it all together” or acting like we do. We are simply journeying together, and seeking to know a God who really understands us, who loves us and is able to put all the pieces of our often bizarre existence into perspective. We’re about encountering God’s Living word the Bible, in order to find our individual and corporate sense of destiny. In order to build strong families, and to live meaningful lives, which will positively impact our communities and glorify our great God.
