“… Our mission is to exalt Christ and edify His body of believers for evangelism and social action.”
“… it is the New Community Church vision to lead people in becoming committed and authentic disciples of Jesus Christ in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”
JOURNEY “… to lead people”
We understand that life is a journey, an experience in progress, and that each of us is at a different stage on this path. Thus we encourage you to “come as you are!” Our desire is to come along side of you and share life together. “Together has power… don’t run alone…”
GROWTH “… in becoming”
We understand that while our eternal destiny has been redeemed and secured in the Cross of Jesus and our salvation is complete in Him, our character is in constant development and transformation into the likeness of the Son of God. None of us is a finished product; we are all a work of art in progress.
“He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6
COMMITMENT “… committed”
As we have experienced the saving grace of Jesus, we have been called to live for Him! We have been “sanctified,” “set apart” to live for God’s honor and glory. We are devoted to God’s mission in the world through His children!
“And this is the will of God, your sanctification…” 1 Tessalonians 4:3
BEING A STUDENT “… disciples of Jesus Christ in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”
To be a Seventh-day Adventist Christian is to follow Jesus, to learn from Him moment by moment, drawing from His Spirit’s anointing in our hearts and the teachings of His Word. A disciple is a student of the Master Jesus, an apprentice of the one who knows all, and loves all!
“Jesus has called us to follow Him.” Matthew 4:19
GENUINE “… and authentic”
Deep within our hearts, we long to be known and loved just as we are… Jesus knows us in this intimate way (John 2:25)! What’s even more amazing, is the fact that He loves us the same! As we are honest with God, then we can begin to be honest with others.
“He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.” John 2:25
